What To Expect

After an introductory lesson on shore, we head out on the water for a paddle. Paddleboarding is an option versus kayaking, please let us know if you are more interested in a Paddleboard tour. This tour defaults as a kayak tour, unless you let us know otherwise. Once we get on the water we are away from all the crowds. Your guides will discuss lake ecology, geology and other natural and human history topics along the way. Depending on lake conditions, you will paddle along the coast of King's Beach and among the boulders of Crystal Bay or along scenic coastline towards Carnelian Bay while getting a unique glimpse of some of Tahoe's most beautiful waterfront homes. The views of the surrounding peaks are amazing and it's great for the whole family! These leisurely floats always travel with the prevailing winds, which allow us to explore and have fun.

Q: Do I need kayaking experience or will you teach me?
A:

No experience is necessary! Beginners are welcome on all of our kayak tours. Most of our guests have never been in a sea kayak before. Anyone in average physical condition may join a kayak tour. If you can hike or bike, you can paddle our sea kayaks. You do not need any swimming skills either.

The only prerequisite is a healthy spirit of curiosity and adventure.

Regardless of age or skill level you will find that our expeditions offer enough flexibility to make your experience with us safe and rewarding. We will show you proper sea kayaking technique and water safety before leaving the beach. And your expert guides will be with you throughout the adventure to give you pointers and improve your skills.
