Lake Tahoe Obstacle Courses

One of the best experiences, so much fun! Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable about local geography, as well as climbing. I am a hiker, but I’ve never been rock climbing, and we felt safe and secure the whole time, and the views were amazing! 10/10 experience, highly recommend!

Our experience started with a warm welcome from Kate and Tristan and then we hopped in, "The Beast," and headed up to the trailhead. Our experience started with an intro to the Via Ferrata system and we spent the next hour climbing up the face of the mountain. It wasn't too challenging but got pretty hot by 9am so we were happy to have reserved the 8am block. The views were amazing and it was really awesome to have the opportunity to rock climb without the technical knowledge and gear. Tristan made the morning very fun and we felt save with him as our guide. 10-10 experience!

We had a great day with our guide, Tim. We felt totally comfortable and safe. This was our first via ferrata. It did not disappoint.

The climb was great. Beautiful views, not difficult, and it was nice for getting peoples' hands on rocks as an intro to climbing, and an easy safe not scary way to get people in that situation. One of our 6 did get nauseous from her fear of heights at one point, and had to turn back, and the guides were great in helping her out with that. Otherwise, the guides and all the staff was great, too.

So much fun with the guide Isaac. He did a great job making everyone feel comfortable and explaining the process. Even took photos for us on the places where it was hard to pull out my camera. Even got a nice beer after from a local brewery!

Mountain climbing at its safest but also fun and challenging. The course, from its holds and views and even monkey bridges were a blast, even if you're someone who is looking to get out of their comfort zone. Tim was a great guide — and basically a sherpa when it came to climbing the trail. Full recommend as a half day experience when visiting the Tahoe area.

Tahoe Via Ferrata with Alpenglow Expeditions was incredible! If you can have Mike as your guide, request him and ask him about his summit to Everest! The 4-hour via ferrata is the way to go. This hike up the mountain being hooked to cables is an awesome adventure trip. Sunny made everything easy to schedule and they take you up to the start on a beast of a terrain vehicle. You won’t regret doing this, and at Tahoe, you get incredible views! Thanks Mike and Alpenglow for a wonderful trip!!

Highly recommend this experience! I am moderately fit, and slightly scared of heights, but it was amazing! Very safe, very thrilling, and you will feel really good when you complete it. Daryl was an amazing guide, he kept it safe and fun! If you're interested but apprehensive, do it! You won't regret it!

We went on the 3 hour tour for my daughter’s 9th birthday and had so much fun! Our guide Jake was fantastic! He kept us safe and ensured we got the most out of our time. After skiing at Squaw for over 20 years the summertime perspective from Tram Face is second to none. We’ll be going back again for the 4 hour tour!

Fun trip hanging on the side of a mountain. Clipping onto the cable kept my focus so I was rarely aware of how high up we were. Beautiful views of the Palisades resort area. Guide, Alex, was very personable and knowledgeable. Made sure we were safe at all times. I did a similar Via Ferrata in Breckenridge last year. That experience included several cable bridges, some zip lines, and limited rappelling. Even though the one in Colorado had a bit more variety I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this outing. Alpenglow Expeditions is a quality outfitter! You won’t be sorry if you choose them.

My husband and two teens signed up for the 3 hour climbing experience. None of them had any prior rock climbing experience. Husband and one teen wore their hiking shoes, while the other teen needed to rent shoes there, as his sneakers didn’t have enough tread. They all purchased the inexpensive gloves and said they were a must.I took the aerial tram to the top of Squaw High Camp while they were hiking/climbing and was able to get a video of them climbing which was awesome.This was the comment from my husband: “It was an amazing experience - challenging but not impossible. Incredible views. Never felt unsafe with the harness. Highly recommend if you are in the Lake Tahoe area!”.

Glad that Tahoe brought this to town. For a family who’s always looking for an exhilarating adventure, this was great! We had a great experience. Travis did an amazing job leading us. He’s very knowledgeable and great with children. My husband and kids did not know what they were getting into and was throughly surprised and had a great time. You do get an adrenaline rush being against the mountain up so high. My kids are 9 and 12 and we do one adventurous trip a year.

My wife and I have done Via's in Mammoth Lakes, CA and Jackson, WY. This was by far the most pleasurable climb we've experienced. It had some excellent challenges without being too exhausting and was, in my opinion, very safe. Our guide, Glen, was very knowledgeable, experienced, and patient as we made our ascent. Due to some snow still remaining in the area, we weren't able to complete a full route, so we modified it and did a down climb. This being the case, we're already planning our return next summer to finish the climb! For anyone visiting the Lake Tahoe area, this adventure is a must do!!
